Alice Phoebe Lou is a born traveller. She’s an artist blessed with wanderlust, someone who simply can’t remain in the same place for too long. Brought up in South Africa, a trip to Europe saw her criss-cross the continent, allowing her experiences to unfold in songs. Settling in Berlin, the city became her base, the hub for her initial recordings.
Three excellent albums followed, before Alice Phoebe Lou decamped once more, crafting 2021’s sublime ‘Child’s Play’ in British Columbia. Taking time out, she’s now back – and bucolic single ‘Shelter’ ends her short silence in emphatic style.
A moment of poise and meditation, ‘Shelter’ seems to find Alice Phoebe Lou recalibrating what art means to her. A place of peace and silence, it affords her room to pivot once more, resulting in a quietly emphatic new single.
Hitting the road shortly, she’ll tour across Japan and Europe this summer, before hitting the UK in November and December. Oh, and a new album is on the way, too…
Check out ‘Shelter’ below.
