Anand Mahindra congratulates Nitu Ghanghas, Saweety Boora for winning gold at World Boxing Championships 2023.
By Shubhi Mishra: It was a super proud moment for the country when India’s Nitu Ghanghas and Saweety Boora clinched gold medals at the Women’s World Boxing Championships 2023. While Nitu won the first gold medal in the 48 kg category, Saweety won the second in the 81 kg category event.
Congratulatory messages and good wishes poured in from all over the world for the women who made Indians swell with pride. Even Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra took to Twitter to congratulate the two with a heartfelt post.
On March 25, Mahindra reshared Delhi Police’s post to cheer for Nitu for winning the first gold at the event. “We at @MahindraRise stand & cheer the hometown hero,” he wrote while retweeting.

The industrialist also reshared a post featuring both the champions and congratulated them for the huge win. “Congrats to World Champion Indian boxers Nitu Ghangas and Saweety Boora for winning GOLD! India is proud of you!” the post read.

Several dignitaries such as Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Himanta Biswa Sharma, Piyush Goyal and Rahul Gandhi, among others, congratulated Nitu and Saweety for their respective gold medals.
“Congratulations to @NituGhanghas333 on winning the prestigious Gold Medal in the Women’s Boxing World Championships. India is elated by her remarkable feat,” PM Modi wrote for Ghanghas.
“Exceptional performance by @saweetyboora! Proud of her for winning the Gold Medal in the Women’s Boxing World Championships. Her success will inspire many upcoming athletes,” the Prime Minister wrote while congratulating Saweety.

While Nitu Ghanghas defeated Mongolia’s Lutsaikhan Altantsetseg, Saweety Boora beat China’s Lina Wang at the IBA Women’s World Boxing Championships 2023.
