A boater told how she saw a man lying on the ground with paramedics nearby.
The woman, who asked not to be named, said she saw the man in Port Meadow, close to Godstow Road, Wolvercote, early on Saturday morning.
Thames Valley Police has confirmed the body of a man in his 30s was found in open space at the meadow on Saturday, and his death is being treated as unexplained but not suspicious.

The woman, who lives in the area, said: “I was out with my dogs on Saturday morning about 8am when I saw a man lying on ground – it was close to a flooded area of the meadow near Godstow Road.
“There were paramedics there but they weren’t making efforts to revive him at the time.”
Another narrowboat owner said this afternoon: “It’s terribly sad to hear of someone dying.
“I walked around the whole meadow this morning and I didn’t see any police activity, or anything unusual.”
A member of staff at The Perch pub in Binsey Lane, which is close to the meadow, said no one had mentioned the man’s death.
He added: “The majority of people who have come in today have come by car, not from Port Meadow.”

“The family of the man have been informed, and our thoughts are with them at this extremely upsetting time.”
