Sustainable Forest Management practices
African Forest Timber Ltd, has adopted Sustainable Forest Management practices so that the use of our forest concessions can provide economic, environmental and social benefits to present and future generations.
Selective harvesting practices, in accordance with in-country laws and regulations are implemented and strictly adhered to. No CITES listed species are harvested, processed or sold.
A limited number of trees of legal diameter are extracted with minimal impact to the surrounding forest, leaving the majority of trees standing and allowing the forest to regenerate naturally. Woodbois aims to combat illegal or unethical logging by striving to be at the forefront of the development of technology-driven ‘stump to customer’ traceability solutions.
