Casemiro was left distraught after he was sent for an early bath after his challenge on Saints midfielder Carlos Alcaraz.
Ten Hag was coy about giving his thoughts on the decision but did blame officials for the result of the match.
When pressed on whether or not he thought Casemiro should have been sent off, he replied: “That is not the issue, we will deal with that.
“The deal is that this game was influenced by the referee.
“I said what I said, and that is the refereeing is influencing the game and we are talking about two issues.”
Taylor also refereed the Chelsea match against Leicester but kept his cards in his pocket when Kai Havertz was caught by Daniel Amartey in a similar way.
The other moment Ten Hag referenced was when the ball struck Armel Bella-Kotchap’s arm in the box at the end of the first half – with no penalty awarded.
The United boss said: “Oh definitely, no doubt, so I don’t understand why the VAR is not interrupting as they already had.”
