ROOKIE GARDNER GETS FIFTH START First-year Blades goalie Evan Gardner got the start in net, making ??? saves to improve his record this season to 3-2-0.

POWER-PLAY CLICKING FOR BLADES Saskatoon went 3-for-5 on the power play. Regina was 1-for-2 with the man-advantage.

HAT-TRICK IN SHORT ORDER It took only 12:23 of Sunday’s game for Sidorov to notch his first hat-trick of the season.

The Anaheim Ducks prospect now has 13 goals in 14 games this season.

“Getting those power plays early, and then making the most of them, it’s really important to get the lead and build energy on the bench. Guys were into it. You get two early like that, it’s obviously a great start for our team and we kind of just fed off of that.” — Blades associate coach Dan DaSilva, who continues to fill in for head coach Brennan Sonne while he is away at the world under-17 hockey challenge.

COMING UP NEXT The Blades are on the road for their next three games with stops in Regina, Swift Current and Moose Jaw in the next week10 days.

Saskatoon is in Regina to play the Pats on Wednesday, followed by games Friday in Speedy Creek against the Broncos and Nov. 14 in Moose Jaw to visit the Warriors.

Next home game is Friday, Nov. 17 against Moose Jaw.
