There were four games in the National Hockey League last night, and here are the highlights.

The Montreal Canadiens won 5-2 over the Chicago Blackhawks.

1. Shayne Gostisbehere voluntarily dives in front of the referee

Last night’s Detroit Red Wings-Philadelphia Flyers game saw Red Wings defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere do his best impression of a dive right in front of the referee.

Gostisbehere was on his way to the penalty box, and he surely didn’t agree with the referee’s decision, explaining why he decided to carry out this gesture.

It should be noted that he received an additional two-minute penalty for this gesture.

As for the game itself, the Red Wings won in extremis against the Flyers, after letting a 5-1 lead slip away.

They went on to win the shootout 7-6.

Hats off to the Flyers, though, for their four-goal comeback. They had even taken a 6-5 lead after trailing 5-1.

2. Big win for the Oilers over the mighty Rangers

As everyone knows, the Oilers have a terrible start to the season to make up for if they hope to climb back up the standings.

It’s really not easy for the Oilers, and they need as many points as possible.

So a win like yesterday’s over the mighty New York Rangers, at Madison Square Garden no less, represents a huge two points.

The Oilers won 4-3 in regulation time.

This goal right here is how you execute a give-and-go to perfection.

The Oilers are now .500 and five points behind the Arizona Coyotes for the final playoff spot with a game in hand.

In defeat, we can’t overlook Mika Zibanejad’s incredible pass on the Rangers’ first goal.

MIKA ZIBANEJAD, ARE YOU SERIOUS?!

3. Jets win easily over Bruins thanks again to Gabriel Vilardi

Winnipeg is having quite a season.

They’ve been dominant in virtually every game, regardless of the opponent.

Last night, they easily defeated the mighty Boston Bruins 5-1.

It was an easy win for the Jets, who weren’t troubled throughout the game.

Gabriel Vilardi continued his excellent form with a goal and an assist.

In doing so, he scored at least one goal in his fifth straight game.

Here’s what his last five games look like.

In short, Vilardi is on fire with the Jets, with 15 points (seven goals and eight assists) in 14 games this season.

He was traded by the Los Angeles Kings along with other players and a pick in return for Pierre-Luc Dubois, who has just 12 points in 29 games.
