I never realized how important plumbers were until yesterday. I asked myself why more young boys aren’t considering this field, given its significance in society.
I had a minor issue with my toilet and water pump yesterday. I went to the place where you can find them, and I thought to myself that if these guys knew how easy the work was, they would have attended to me quickly.
To my surprise, I told them my destination, and I received an unexpected response. One of them said he wouldn’t go there, not because it was far from town, but because he had other offers. I actually went to the popular place in town, expecting to find many of them, only to discover just a few. The only person who listened to me was an elderly man. In the end, I couldn’t take any of them home due to their scarcity in the place I visited..
This left me wondering why young boys are not choosing this profession. In the US, the average plumber earns a reasonable amout of money in most cases more than nurses and doctors, I’m not kidding. Apart from the fact that we don’t value skilled workers here, plumbing is an essential skill needed for our daily lives. It’s almost certain that you will need a plumber someday.
Now, imagine what you could achieve with such a skill as a graduate. Imagine adding creativity to it, like creating an app to easily find a plumber. Imagine having a professional office where people can hire your staff for plumbing jobs, paying you well for it. Also, picture people subscribing to your services monthly or yearly, allowing your skilled plumbers to maintain apartments. The ‘dirty’ plumbers you see on the street are indispensable. It will likely take years for technology to replace their jobs.
So, dear young guys, you don’t have to resort to less ethical means. You can learn plumbing and add your creativity to it. You might not even need to do the physical work yourself; you can outsource it. But at least, have a basic understanding of this valuable skill.
In conclusion, my encounter with plumbers made me realize the vital role they play in our society. It’s surprising that more young individuals aren’t considering plumbing as a profession, especially given its importance and potential for financial success. In contrast to some perceptions, plumbers are highly valued in countries like the United States, where they often earn more than nurses and doctors.
